Living in Los Angeles and pursuing a career in the entertainment industry is cut throat. 

You have seen it before, the jaded industry puts value on image.

I have stand along side you before at auditions, paying for acting classes, costly head shots, rent, the usual expenses that seem to drain our bank accounts each month. Slaving over bar jobs and meager tippers.

When the industry speaks, image is everything. We seen it before. People with little to no talent outfitted in the latest fashion gets farther in this game.

Over years of experience I found a way to self-brand myself and look good doing so, without putting myself in debt.

I’ll put it this way, with a little work and creativity we can all be major players in this arena and look great doing so.

One of my advice is keep up to date on online sales, especially sales from forever 21, urban outfitters, etc. A lot of the times, they have special promotions only for their online store.

For example if you go to www.forever21.com today they have a sale, Buy one sale item and get one free. That is an amazing find for up to date trendy pieces that you don’t have to commit your hard earned dollars on. 

Look for items that are in trend, look through magazines , or even on tumblr for inspiration. In addition if you see a classic fitted item it is a must because they don’t go out of style…..

So go hunt for your new treasures online by subscribing to online stores list to get up to date bargins.

One of my motos, is don’t let the trends work you. You work the trends. Better yet, throw it all out the window and create a style of your own. 

Native to Los Angeles, a woman that has worn many hat. Past Industry Make-up Artist turn model, actress eventually to finding my love as a on-air personality/ host, entrepreneur…tech geek, digital marketing producer.

How can so many hats fit in one closet?!?! Like many people who live in Los Angeles, we all wear many hats, work various industry jobs, etc. And we look fabulous doing it.

I often get asked about my unique sense of style a kaleidoscope of eccentric, hobo, California comfort, designer , to my endless collection of vintage one of a kinds. 

Am I a millionaire. I am not. I live on a average American budget attending school simultaneously working. I pay rent for dockside marina property, utilities, books, the usual expenses that you have.

Yet, how is it that my closet resembles a fashionistas heaven. I didn’t spend millions, or thousands even. I’m the equivalent of the “extreme coupon-er” of fashion.

It is a must in an industry where personal branding is everything. Talent and knowledge is key we all know that, but packaging will keep you the head of the pack

Spring is long gone, but it is never to late for some “spring cleaning” in this case summer cleaning. It is always refreshing to clear out the old to give space for new fashion finds. However, my old can be someone’s new…..I am going to be attempting to list old vintage favorites of mine, jewelry, etc …. hopefully some one else can find it as a treasure like I once did.
