I Love shoes. It doesn’t matter if they are 5 inches high or a pair of dank kicks….I want some Isabel’s on my feet. Isabel Marant brought sneakers to the runway. I am about to make the street my runway……
Unless you are a Beverly Hills house wife, which I am gladly not. Keeping up and updating one’s closet with new current trends can be tough. Splurging on a 500 dollar pair of stilettos vs rent may not be the most practical decision.
However, mastering the art of shopping on a budget is a gift from the gods that I cherish everyday.
This season making a statement with my feet, is probably close to an addiction for me. If I were to be a label whore, you can consider me bankrupt. However, shopping smart and shopping with a purpose will make your wallets heavier and your shoe rack full of art for your feet.
This seasons must haves and trends I’ve seen all too much are chunky healed ankle boots, shoes with lots of mix textures (velvet, hardware, lace, faux animal print), and bold primary colors seem to be the must haves….and yes I have them all. Don’t forget riding boots and funky printed rain boots.
In order to keep my wallet full, and my shoe addiction at bay…shopping at smaller boutiques and chain stores is key. Think stores like LOVE D, Charlotte Russe, etc. All these store carry similar styles that you see gracing the latest runways but more affordable for the ones who may not be able to splurge on 1000 dollar shoes.
A good tip and what I look for is the stores that do the whole buy one get one half off stores, amazing two pairs of new shoes for a fraction of the cost. Or in this picture layout Charlotte Russe’s current deal is buy one get the 2nd pair for 15 dollars.
It isn’t about the label folks, its about the execution of pulling the no name copies of the name brands that make the out fit work. Nothing says wow than a pair of cut of shorts in the winter with tights, a t-shirt, and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell knockoffs.
Shhh no one has to know, if you rock it to the fullest. I love labels, but when it comes to seasonal trends I like to go to remakes of the high end because it won’t dent my mortgage when it goes out of style the next season.
When I buy something high end, I stick to timeless pieces that won’t ever go out of style that are better quality and made to last….not to mention warranties when it starts to wear and tear.
So get out there and dare to wear the smart way, don’t be a snob when it comes to the trendier pieces…because who knows you may get bored with it when the newer styles emerge.
I missed this years LA fashion week, was sad to see my press passes and front row tickets for selected designers, due to my umm let say “set back.” sounds much more pleasant then the repeated accident that left me in the hospital for practically a month…
I play games with myself, because I have lots of free time these days because i am suppose to stay put in bed for recovery. No fun.
So I just end up find new ways to express myself…in this post is through my feet.Which were not harmed in the “set back.” I actually went down a size I was a 7 and now I am a size 6 imagine that.
My fall shoe porn wish list, so much more then tumblr allows to post. Thankfully I already had some of the shoes on the list prior to the accident. I like lining them up now and looking at them, and just putting them for fun now in my room.
My favs are ankle thick heel style booties, loafer boat shoes, riding boots.
Must have colors of this season for me burnt orange, royal blue, classic nude, and champagne pink.
